Tap

Tap is an exciting and energetic style that allows dancers to create their own rhythm. The small metal plates on the bottom of tap shoes act as drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. Tap class will provide students with a basic understanding of basic tap foundation, terminology, timing and rhythm. An emphasis will be placed on explanation of terminology, execution of basic steps through more challenging rhythms, precise movements, improvisational techniques, coordination, syncopation and technical execution. Improve your musicality and coordination! Often used in musical theater, this style of dance allows you to be a musician and a dancer all at the same time!
