DRESS REHEARSAL GUIDELINES:

Dress Rehearsal Times: See Schedule! Rehearsal will begin at 3:00pm on Friday May 25th at the Sahuarita District Auditorium, and we will run until we are finished. Every class will be given a 10 minute timeslot to rehears. Please Note: Times are approximate so please come ready to rehearse and do not be late! But please plan on being at the theater for at least 45 minutes depending on where we are in the rehearsal schedule.

Dress Rehearsal: Please arrive fully prepared and dressed  just as you would for the performance! Have complete hair, makeup and costume on with the correct tights and shoes! This is the time designated for parents to film their children’s performances, therefore students need to be dressed as if it IS the real performance!

Hair: Hair style is determined by each teacher for the dance you are performing. Please make sure students’ hair is pulled back into a bun, ponytail, half-pony tail (or other hair style) as directed. Whatever the hairstyle, please make sure the student has hair neatly styled and that there are no “whispies”.

Stage Makeup: Girls should be wearing brown eye shadow, black mascara and/or fake eyelashes, black eye liner, pink blush, and a solid red lipstick. Please remember that makeup needs to be a little heavier than normal makeup due to stage lighting that washes out student’s faces. Boys do not need to worry about makeup.

Costumes: Each dance has a different costume. Please make sure your child has their complete costume and all accessories as well as the correct tights and shoes. You may wish to have extra tights on hand in case students damage their tights before the performance.

Videotaping and Pictures

Dress Rehearsal is the time designated for parents to take photos and videotape the dancers. It can be a distraction to have 100 plus video cameras in the audience the night of the performance, so we invite you to video during dress rehearsal. At this time, you may tape from a seat in the audience or you may stand near the front of the stage.

Video of the actual Recital Performance:  If you would like to get a DVD of the performance, there will be order forms available through the videographer Richard Ross.

Dancers Watching Dress Rehearsal

Dancers of Act II can sit in the audience and watch Act I. When the dancers in Act I are completely done those dancers can sit in the audience and view Act II.  Please be seated in the back of the auditorium to stay out of the way of the video cameras

Performance May 26th Act I: 5:30 ACT II: 7:00

RECITAL NIGHT GUIDELINES:

Dancers in Act I be back stage by 5:00pm      Dancers in Act II be back stage by 6:30pm

Moms Needed: We need two Moms per class to help in pod A and then back stage with your child's dance! Jobs include ensuring all students are present for the dance, monitoring students in pod A so they are not running around, helping with costumes ensuring they have everything they need, and staying with dancers before/after their dance and until their parents pick them up at the end of their act. You will be able to see your dancer perform from the side stage area!

Dancers: Dancers need to arrive in Pod A at least 30 minutes before their act is scheduled to begin. For Act I, students need to arrive no later than 5:00. For Act II, students need to arrive no later than 6:30pm. Dancers should be in full costume, with correct shoes, tights, and accessories with hair and makeup already done. See Dress Rehearsal for more information on Hair, Makeup, and Costumes.

Picking up and Dropping off dancers before/after their act: Students need to report to Pod A in the District Auditorium 30 minutes prior to the act that they are in. Students should be picked up promptly at the END of their act (at intermission for those in Act I)! If your student is in Act I, please pick them up promptly at intermission (not during Act I), have them change into their regular clothes, then return to the audience for Act II.  If your child is in Act II, you may wish to do their hair and makeup prior to Act I, however they should also wear regular clothes while watching Act I in the audience. At the end of Act I, have student change into their costumes and report promptly to Pod A for their performance.

Dancers Watching the Recital

Students are strongly encouraged to watch the dancers in the act that they are not dancing in! Please bring a change of clothes to change into. Do not wear your costume out in the audience!

PLEASE CLEAN UP! Do not leave anything behind after dress rehearsal and the performance!

Thank you for a great year! We hope to see you this Summer and in the Fall! Summer registration has begun. Fall registration will start online July 1st and in person registration is July 15th at the new Studio! Classes will start in August!
